Dog Breeds

Aussiedoodle

As a Poodle hybrid, the Aussiedoodle is a cross-breed between a Miniature Australian Shepherd and a Poodle. With a mixed background, the resulting Aussiedoodle may exhibit any combination of traits from these two breeds. To find a true representation of the breed, choose experienced Aussiedoodle breeders. Aussiedoodle puppies and dogs have a higher intelligence commonly associated with the Poodle and come in a variety of colors making them rather attractive dogs. Their coats are typically low-shedding and low-dander thanks to their Poodle ancestors. The lineage of Australian Shepherd herding type dogs can be passed onto current generations of Aussiedoodles. Poodle hybrids like the Aussiedoodle have become very popular in recent years and play a big role in the current designer dog trend. Crossing breeds with the Poodle usually occurs due to the Poodle’s non-shedding coat. The American Kennel Club and Canadian Kennel Club have not yet recognized the experimentation of these hybrid or designer dogs. A major key to cross breeding towards purebred dogs is called hybrid vigor meaning the breeding results in a healthier dog with superior genetic constitution that can come from dogs that are purebred for so long, they have common genetic disorders.
